Video streaming courses (VID) follow traditional class meeting schedules, while providing students the opportunity to attend class sessions at one of Walters State's four campuses (Greeneville, Sevierville, Tazewell, or the main campus in Morristown). Video streaming courses are good choices for students who may be unable to travel to the main campus for a particular course. Instructors can deliver instruction from any of the four sites to students at all locations. Students at the distance locations can see and interact with the instructor and students at other sites via closed circuit television technology. For specific information concerning VID courses and site locations, please refer to the department course listings and the off-campus listings in the Timetable of Classes.
Video streaming courses are indicated in StarNET and the Timetable of Classes by "VID." For example, a video streaming English 1010 course will look like this in the Timetable:
ENGL 1010 V91 80190 VID Composition I
Some coursework for video streaming courses can be completed through eLEARN. Library services, tutoring services, and all other student support services are obtainable through eLEARN or other electronic means. Students should check the "WSCC Links" on the home page of eLEARN for many services and online assistance. If students have difficulty with eLEARN, help is provided through either the WSCC HelpDesk 423.318.2742 or the Instructional Design Team in the Office of Distance Education.
