Current college-wide policies

Slightly less than two years ago, Walters State embarked on a journey to mobilize student learning.  Our interest was piqued by the engagement we saw in students with their mobile devices, and we developed a plan to use this engagement to deliver course content.  The framework used in academic planning for mobilizing learning supports Walters State‚Äôs strategic plan for improving student retention and graduation rates. More specifically, faculty members developed plans for addressing and assessing student-learning outcomes.  Since implementing our mobile-learning initiative, we have realized a 90 percent voluntary faculty participation rate; increased student-learning outcomes ranging from 10 to 25 percent, and have seen improvement in student and faculty engagement in course learning. Such positive results affirm our decision to infuse mobilization into our classrooms at Walters State.
