Cleamon Davis considered himself just another graduate during Walters State’s recent commencement ceremony. Those who knew his story, though, realized his trip across the stage was a special one, 30 years in the making.
Davis, who now lives in White Pine, enrolled at Walters State in 1974. He had just been discharged from the Air Force. His eight years of service included a tour of Vietnam. He was eager to use his G.I. Bill benefits when he enrolled at Walters State.
