Walters State Community College is offering violin lessons this spring from teacher and musician John Michael Fox. Fox will be available for lessons on Tuesday and Saturday at the college’s Morristown campus.
Fox serves as an adjunct instructor at Walters State. He performs regularly with the Oak Ridge Symphony, the Assisi Italy Performing Arts Festival and at churches throughout the area. He was a member of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra from 1985-2012.
Fox is teaching the violin, viola and beginning cello. Lessons emphasize technique and musicality, but students may choose any music genre. This includes folk music, fiddle music, Scottish, jazz along with classical.
Lessons are $23 per thirty-minute session. For more information, contact Fox at firstname.lastname@example.org or Laura Ritter, director of choral music and assistant dean of humanities, at Laura. Ritter@ws.edu.
