Backbeat features "All-American" Composers March 7

The Walters State Sevier County Campus will host a performance of “All-American Composers” at 7 p.m. on March 7. This free concert will be at the Conner-Short Center and will feature the music of George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart and Irving Berlin. 
Music includes standards like “Rhapsody in Blue,” "Funny Valentine,” and “Alexander’s Ragtime Band.”  

Backbeat, the campus’ show choir, is the concert’s headliner. The Women’s Chamber Ensemble will make a special appearance.  The show is directed and choreographed by Pedro Tomas. Ken Leach is the musical director and arranger. Featured musicians are Doug Rinaldo on reeds; Stewart Reed on bass; Garrett Tillman on drums; and Leach on piano.
