Walters State’s Music and Theatre Department will hold auditions for its fall production of “The House of Yes” at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 and 12. Auditions will be in room 132 of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex on the Morristown campus.
Student Micah Keck is directing the play, written by Wendy McLeod. McLeod is an Ohio-based playwright and professor. Her other works include “sin” and Schoolgirl Figure.”
“The House of Yes” is the first of her works to be made into film. The work centers on a family reunion with between delusional sister who believes she is Jackie Kennedy and her favorite brother. As her brother introduces his fiancé, the entire family is stranded inside by an impending hurricane. As one might guess, the storms raging inside this dysfunctional family rival any winds blowing outside.
Due to the adult content, cast members must be age 18 and older. A prepared monologue is requested but not required. Individuals without a prepared monologue will be able to read from the script.
Individuals who have auditions for “Dracula” are also invited to audition for “The House of Yes.” Production schedules will allow participation in both plays.
