Rel Maples Institute Announces Fall Events

The Rel Maples Institute of Culinary Arts, located on the Walters State Sevier County Campus, has announced its Fall Schedule of Events.  

These events give students the opportunity to practice their craft. The Institute offers certificates and degrees for future chefs. Training facilities include a 2,100 square-foot kitchen, a bake shot, a demonstration kitchen and dining rooms. The Institute was the first in Tennessee to be accredited by the American Culinary Foundation.

Meals are prepared by students under the close supervision of chef instructors. Reservations are requested and must be cancelled within 24 hours. Most are served in the Wilma Maples Mountain Rose Dining Room.

Events this semester include:

Sept. 23 – French Cuisine featuring grilled duck breast in classic orange sauce, 11:30 a.m., $15

Sept. 30 – Seafood Fest, 6:30 p.m., $25

Oct. 1 – Brunch, 10:30 a.m., $12

Oct. 8 – American Regional Cuisine, Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Coast, 6 p.m., $15

Oct. 21 – Country Fair Featuring Oktoberfest Selections (no reservations required), 6 p.m., $10

October 29 – Special Diets – Gluten-Free Meal 6 p.m., $15

Nov. 4 – International Cuisine featuring Australian (lamb); 11:30 a.m., $15

Nov. 12 – Special Diets –Diabetic-Friendly Meal, 6 p.m., $15

Nov. 18 – International Cuisine featuring South American Cuisine (Beef),11:30 a.m., $15

Nov. 26 – Thanksgiving Lunch, 11:30 a.m., $20

Dec. 2 – International Cuisine featuring Russian and Eastern European, 11:30 a.m., $15
