Walters State’s Catron Art Gallery now features the best work of the college’s students. The Gallery is located inside the R. Jack Fishman Library on the Morristown campus.
Works include ceramics, drawings, paintings, two- and three-dimensional design, and photography.
“We have some excellent art majors and it shows in this exhibit. We also have some very talented students who are not art majors,” said Susan Roberts, associate professor of art.
The center of the Gallery features a lunch table set with plates of realistic food. Roberts said that the food is actually composed from hand-made and colored paper. This artwork is the result of a class project of Amy Evans, head of the art program, called “The Last Dinner.”
Six drawings are designed to tell stories, while two others interpret “World War Z” and “Dante’s Inferno.” Watercolors and self-portraits are also featured.
The exhibit continues through Sept. 5. Admission is free.
