Walter State Community College’s bluegrass band, High Lonesome Senate, will perform at 7 p.m. on May 3 during the college’s 9th Annual Evening of Bluegrass. This year, the concert will be at the Connor-Short Center on the Sevier County Campus.
Led by Chip McClain, dean of humanities, the band consists of students enrolled in the college’s Folklore Club. The High Lonesome Senate sees new faces as members graduate and move on. Although banjo player Mark Collins will perform with the band on May 3, his tenure at Walters State is ending and McClain is looking for a replace
