Walters State Community College plans financial aid workshops at high schools within its service area throughout the fall. Workshops are planned in November at the following schools:
•Cumberland Gap High School – Nov. 8, 6 p.m.
•South Greene High School – Nov. 13, 6 p.m.
•Cosby High School – Nov. 15, 6 p.m.
•Sevier County High School – Nov. 27, 5:30 p.m.
•Cocke County High School – Nov. 29, 6 p.m.
The workshops are for seniors and parents at each school. Students attending have a chance to win a $500 grant at each workshop to attend Walters State.
Students planning to attend other colleges are urged to attend workshop, as information discussed is relevant to most colleges and universities. The workshop will cover the types of financial aid available and the financial aid application process. Those attending will learn about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Tennessee Hope (lottery) Scholarship, state grants and scholarships.
