October workshops at the Tennessee Career Center in Talbott include computer literacy and job search skills.
Two special workshops will celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month on Oct. 9. “Learning about Community Resources” will be held from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. “Job Search Using JOBS4TN Online” will follow from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Workshops are free to individuals. The Center is located in the Alpha Square Shopping Center next to Fred’s on Andrew Johnson Highway (11E) in Talbott. The Center serves the following counties: Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins, Hancock, Jefferson, Sevier and Union counties. All workshops are funded by an agreement between Walters State Community College and the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

In addition to the workshops, the Tennessee Career Center at Talbott offers a resource lab with computers, printers and fax machines for job seekers to use at no charge. Centers also provide information about the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, adult education, and Workforce Investment Act services. All services are free and available to anyone at least 18 years old.
