•Creating Web Pages will begin Nov. 13 and is offered through ED-2-Go. This six- week workshop will help you create and post your own website. The cost is $125.
•Accounting Fundamentals Ed-2-Go will begin Nov. 13. This class will increase your financial awareness for your personal finances as well as giving you a marketable skill. The six-week course begins Nov. 16.
Classes in Newport:
•Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Habits 1-3, will meet Nov. 13, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The class will meet in the Newport Utilities Room. The cost is $25 and includes lunch.
Classes on the Walters State Sevier County Campus:
•Microsoft Excel 2010, Level 3, will meet Nov. 8 and 15, 8:30 a.m.-noon. The cost of this class is $175 and includes the book.
•Trench & Excavation and Confined Space Competent Person courses are planned Nov. 13. Trench and Excavation is in the morning; confined space entry is in the afternoon The first is designed for all employees involved in trenching and underground projects. The class provides training in soil analysis, protective systems, identification of existing/predictable hazards and corrective actions. The class gives information needed to be the OSHA-required “competent” person at trenching/underground sites.
Confined Space Entry covers standards for entry personnel, attendants and rescue personnel. Topics include permits, gas-monitoring equipment, ventilation, and alternate entry procedures. One class is $135; both classes are $270 and include lunch.
Classes at the Greene Technology Center in Greene County:
•TOSHA 30-Hour Safety Training will be Nov. 19-22 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. This is offered in conjunction with TOSHA. This is recommended for front-line supervisors, safety committee members or safety professionals. Graduates who complete the class receive a safety certification card from TOSHA. The cost of the class is $414.
