Financial Aid Workshops Planned at High Schools

Walters State Community College will sponsor financial aid nights at five Lakeway area high schools in November. The workshops are for seniors and their parents. Students attending have a chance to win a $500 grant at each workshop. 

In Cocke County, Cosby High School will host the workshop at 5 p.m. on Nov. 12. Cocke County High School will host it at 6 p.m. on Nov. 19. The workshop will be at Cherokee High School in Hawkins County at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 and then at South Greene High School in Greene County at 6 p.m. on Nov. 21. Sevier County High School will host the workshop on Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m.

Students unsure about their college choice should attend, as information will be valid for every college. Information discussed will include the types of financial aid available and the financial aid application process: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Tennessee Hope (lottery) scholarship, state grants, Walters State Foundation scholarships and other forms of scholarships.
