This is Walters State Pride Week!

Walters State Community College will celebrate Pride Day on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Lady Senators and the Senators host conference rival Dyersburg State Community College with tip-off at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the “Z” Buda Assembly Hall and Gymnasium. Admission is free to both basketball games. 


Show your Walters State pride by wearing the school's colors on Friday!


A highlight of the afternoon will be the crowning of Ms. Walters State 2013 during half-time of the men’s basketball game. Nominees are chosen by campuses and by student organizations. Ms. WSCC and a runner-up are selected by a combination of student votes, interviews and essays.


This year’s nominees are:


Sarah Bayne, a culinary arts and business major from Knoxville, represents the Hospitality Business Student Association. She is the daughter of Stephanie and Rocky Bayne. 


Ashley Bowers, a nursing major from New Market, represents the Student Nurse Association. She is the daughter of Tresa Coons and Brian Bowers. 


Brittany Brasky, a psychology major from Talbott, represents the Psychology Club. She is the daughter of Viki and Joseph Brosky.


Jessica Brown, a agriculture business major from Corryton, represents the Ag Club. She is the daughter of Pam Brown.


Marina Cureton, a paralegal studies major from Cosby, represents the Sevier County Campus. She is the daughter of Todd and Patsy Cureton.


Micah Glafenhein, a physical therapist assistant major from Corryton, represents the Physical Therapist Assistant Club. She is the daughter of Steve and Lydia Glafenhein.


Moriah McKinney, an elementary education major from Morristown, represents the Student Tennessee Education Association. She is the daughter of Donnie and Balinda McKinney.


Christina Maddox, a criminal justice major from Rogersville, represents the Science Club. She is the daughter of Joey and Michelle Maddox.


Kaylee Proffitt, a social work major from Greeneville, represents the Greeneville/Greene County Campus. She is the daughter of Angela Proffitt and Roger Proffitt.


Madison Snyder, a pre-medicine major from Morristown, represents the History Club. She is the daughter of Pam Williford.


Nicole Warner, a nursing major from Seymour, represents the Sevier County Campus Ambassadors. She is the daughter of Holly and Rob Warner. 


Brittany Wilson, a business major from Whitesburg, represents the Music Club. She is the daughter of Beverly and Greg Wilson.
